Immersion not coming on overnight on economy 7

This has now passed well beyond my knowledge of electrics (not hard). Without giving too much away the local tradesmen don't have the best of reputations in this remote part of Scotland so I'm not particularly surprised at the error as it seems there has been one.

Do you think its worth getting an electrician in and asking him to have a look and see if its been wired properly (and hope its not the guy who originally wired it!)? it would really set my mind at rest at least and i don't really see another option other than to ignore it now at least the immersion is wired correctly.

you could ask the neighbours if they've got similar systems and if you could look at their meters.

You should also be able to ask the electricity company but actually getting to speak to someone who knows one end of a wire from the other ...
