in-line dimmer switch (for lamp)

Hi all,

I've been looking for quite a long time at Maplin, Google etc, but can't find something relatively simple (in my mind, at least): a mains cable-mounted dimmer switch.

Please can someone suggest where I can find one (real shop in London or UK online)

thanks davy - I didn't know about that site

I'll have to check the bulb isn't less than 25W (it's a spinning round night light thing [which is too bright and fast!]) or of course put in a 25W bulb and dim it.

a cheaper mechanical dimmer would be even better though (so when switched off at mains it comes back at same level)

no, will do, but it's easier to find out what you want before leaving the house when you have no car.
