I saw a bike this morning (6:00am) with a front headlight that resembled the brightness and colour of a HID on a car.

Anyone seen these? Are they HID?

I also have to say, those rear lights that flash - I know its not legal, but I'd rather see them flashing, because it highlights the fact that its a vulnerable cyclist, as opposed to, say, a reflecter on a bollard or a motorcyclist.

Got an LED set from Argos last year for £10.
Rear ones have 3 different flash modes and 1 static mode, front is VERY bright white light with a hint of blue if viewed from a certain angle. Think they are 1 watt LED's and powered by 2 AAA batteries in the rear and 4 AA in the front.

Maybe one of these bad boys, great bit of kit and light up the road nicely (also scares the crap out of car drivers when they just see this bright light coming towards them)
