Hi,

Our Indesit WG1030 washer has been going strong for the past 5yrs needing only a replacement belt.
However, it has recently started tripping the RCD in the main fuse box as it clicks over to the fast spin cycle.
If we just turn the RCD back on without touching the washer the cycle will then complete with no further problems.

Anyone have any ideas on the cause and what the fix would be ?

Thanks
Mike

I don't particularly know this model but I'm assuming it has a run of the mill carbon brush motor and therefore if the brushes are worn down and it's arcing excessively then this could be enough to trip RCDs.

You could get away with changing the brushes and hopefully the motor commutator is undamaged.
