installation gas hob.

i am installing a new gas hob.
the distance from the hob at the back to a tiled wall is 40 mm.
is this allowed or is the distance to short.

what does it say in the manual?

the manual says 50 mm. but does not say anything about the wall covering ( could be wallpaper instead of tiles)

I know what you're thinking. If it's ok at 50mm against a stud and plasterboard wall, surely it's got to be ok at 40mm against tiles. You just want that final, second oppinion to put your mind at rest.
