We have just had an engineered wood floor installed in our home.
The floors were fairly uneven to start with (floor is wooden beams, with plywood over the top) - however the tradesman was aware of this.
4mm cush n wood underlay was used under the engineered wood planks, laid as a floating floor.
Before the wood was laid, some cement was placed to try and even out the floor.
Overall, a good job has been done, however in the bedroom, there is a large section in the middle of the room which still has significant bounce. When you walk over it normally, you can actually see the boards flexing (about 1cm?). The area it affects is about 1m x 40cm.
I think that the tradesman was hoping that the bed would sit on top of this large flexible area, but i am wondering whether this level/size of flex is acceptable?
Should we have the tradesman take the floor up again and try and level it more? (at the end of the day, a lot of money was spent getting this done. Even though the bed sits over most of the affected area, it galls me that the floor isn't 'perfect')
