Our soakaway has failed and due to our plot not being that big we think our only option will be replace the current septic tank and soakaway with a sewage treatment plant and new soakaway (sooner or later).
Has anyone had similar work done recently (our house is a 3 bed) or installed a similar system and can give us a guide re: costs?
Thanks,
N

Too many variables I think to give an idea of costs, new system will need a Power Supply, Soakaway depends on soil type, and proximity to watercourses etc. If the existing soakaway has failed, is this due to a high water table?

Well power supply shouldn’t be a problem. No clay here (which I presume would be the main issue) the soil is easy to work. No watercourses nearby and I don’t think the water table is high. We’re not sure why it’s failed. We bought it before the new regs came in and the house for the previous 25 or so years has been a second home so not in regular use.
We know (due to access) that there are factors that will add £££ to the installation but just have no idea.
