Hello
I’m looking for some top line advice on installing an immersion heater in conjunction with my Worcester Bosch 440 CDi High Flow Combi boiler. I have solar panels and a battery and currently export about 400kwh a month. My plan is to use the immersion heater to reduce my hot water bills when I’m producing surplus electricity rather than send it back to the grid.
My boiler currently supplies all my hot water and heating. Would it be possible to plumb in a unvented cylinder to supply hot water and what do I need to consider. I’ve been in touch with Worcester Bosh and they have advised its not possible to pre heat water for the 440Cdi. The plan would be to perhaps use the immersion heater during the summer months and switch to the boiler when I have the central heating on or I’m not generating electricity. Any advise would be greatly received. Thanks in advance. Mike
