I am installing plasterboard in the whole house. Need some advice on insulation.
Its a timber framed bungalow, built in 1960's. There was no insulation in the walls, when I started renovating.
The gap between the render and plasterboard is 90mm. The render is cement, but I am plan to replace it with lime one day.
I read somewhere that using insulation can cause damp problems. But having second thoughts now. So far only the bathroom outer walls are done. Mostly doing the ceilings and walls not facing outside for now. I plan to extend the bathroom in a couple of years.
Would insulation make a big difference? If so what type of insulation should I use? Is there a risk of damp?
Thanks for advice.
