Here's the deal. My gf shares a flat with 2 collegues. They (colleagues) have a tv in each room with telewest boxes. She moved in recently and doesnt have any connection in her room. Analogue reception is really poor with a set top aerial and the rooftop antenna comes in on a wallplate in another room right over the other side of the house. Difficult to connect to this without causing disruption/drilling holes etc.

Just outside her room is the main 'incomer' from telewest. This splits 2 ways to each flatmates room via metal 3 way box as per the auction below. Is it possible to add another splitter on to this splitter and give her some tv channels?

I have already run the cable from one of the boxes (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4200DVB) into her rf input and it picks up about 7 or 8 channels.

Will this do the job? ...and will it affect/degrade the signal downstream at the boxes?

By adding a second splitter you will simply degrade the signal to the flat mates digital boxs possibly creating picture freeze or loss of channels.
What you have allready done, using the RF out is your best option, you will not gain extra channels by adding splitter..
Hope this helps.

Isn't that the one for the old analogue service?

What does the decoder look like? Big red LED display?
