Intergas Compact Combi - Error 4 - Not Lighting

Hello,

My 2.5 year old Intergas Compact Combi 36 has decided to no light this morning.

Error code 4 is showing and displays again is I do a power cycle.

The manual says to call my installer, I am going to do that but thought I would post here first to see if anyone has any ideas.

Help much appreciated.

What noises does the boiler make? . Does it sound like a coffee percolator?


Have you had any electrical work recently?

Have you paid the gas bill?

Should be under the 5 year warranty.

Thank you for the very swift reply.

Emergency over!!!

Turns out the wife had knocked the inlet valve by the gas meter under the stairs and turned it off.

I had checked the electricity supply but not the gas.

Glad it was something simple.

You're not the first to have a missus do this.

Reminds me of a customer with a very restricted gas flow in their first floor flat.

Wife was adamant that there was no gas tap in the kitchen!

The husband had to dig up the gas pipe where it crossed the garden about 300 mm deep for about 4 m. I checked it and of course it was fine.

Eventually I discovered there WAS an emergency control in a kitchen unit which the wife had stuffed full of plastic bags!

Always makes me smile the thought of the husband, a solicitor, actually doing physical work which was totally unnecessary!
