I see you are in London. Common local building practice is to set the window frames inwards (due to a regulation introduced after the Great Fire of London :eek: ) but in other parts of the UK it is quite usual to have windows lined up with the outside of the house wall and a "Window Board" on that part of the wall under the window and inside the room. You can do it that way. Then you will have somewhere to put your pot plants. In most parts of the country this is not considered odd.
