I have an older Worcester Danesmore oil boiler (not sure age) which has worked very well until this present intermittant fault.
It keeps locking out preceded by a "buzzing" noise that comes and goes. If the "buzzing" noise lasts for more than a few seconds then the boiler locks out. If you disturb the boiler in any way (lift out the burner and then put it back it) it works for a day or so then slowly goes faulty again. On warmer days it is worse.
We have tried the following: Replaced solenoid, cleaned oil filter in tank and bled the oil system, removed the controller and cleaned all the relay and main contacts, had it serviced, replaced the flame sensor and generally looked at it and scratched our heads!!!!!
It was doing it in the spring and it has had a long rest for the summer....it is now doing it again. When it works...it works well!!!
Any suggestions?
