A year ago I had my house re-wired, including a new extension. In the kitchen, I have 3 circuits of low voltage downlighters, each circuit having 4 downlighters. In one of the circuits, one downlighter goes off randomly, stays off for a while and then comes back on. This repeats regularly and often. I have replaced the transformer and this makes no difference - can anyone shed any light on this :) ?

PS All circuits are on dimmer switches

Does it go on and off more frequently the longer it is switched on? Did you replace the LV lampholder? If not try replace that and let us know if this cures it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I believe, now that you ask, that it does happen more frequently the longer the lights are on, but I will check tonight. Does this sound familiar? Is this because of the increased heat that is generated?

I will not be able to replace the lampholder until the weekend ie til I get one, but will let you know the outcome.

Replacing the lamp holder fixed it. A wire was broken, bar one thread of wire. Many thanks for the help
