Hi,
Have removed 90 year old plaster off internal blockwork which is stable and in sound condition. Now I intend to batten out and basecoat it with browning before topcoating with multifinish (thought browing more suitable than bonding). Basically, I'm confused as to whether the blockwork has to be primed first with PVA 5:1 or simply dampened down before plastering? I don't see the need for PVAing when the surface has good key with it being course, but obviously the surface is a bit dusty from where old plaster has been on it. Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, but it's my first time basecoating plaster and don't want to have it all fall off!
