Hi All,

Want to replace 1 or 2 of our doors in our flat and also our newly purchased terraced house, which has very old style doors.

Now, not sure if we're obliged to replace them with fire doors, or able to swap them with ordinary internal doors?

Don't really understand what 'fire doors' are to be honest.

the flat almost certainly does need them.

The house probably doesn't, unless it has more than two floors or is in multiple occupation.

Fire doors are far more solid and substantial than cheap hollow doors; they are available flat, panelled, painted or veneered. Their solidity means they feel better and blot out sound

Are you hoping to save a few pounds, or is there another reason why you don't want fire doors?

Thanks John, for your reply.

OK so probably go with fire doors all round. we don't noises emanating from the bedroom reaching other rooms

For the lounge, seperating it from the diner, thinking of having a glass internal door, letting in light and having glass surround at the sides.
