I'm replacing an internal concrete floor in an old house (100yrs approx). The whole floor will be coming up. (The current floor centre has a raised area and cracks radiate out to the periphery of the room).
I have seen screeding done ages ago but I have forgotten what the procedure is and what materials are used (mix ratios as well).
Also;
As I would be using a damp proof membrane, do I just rely on visible markings on the wall to keep the screed level (instead of using wooden pegs hammered into the ground with battens acting as level guides).
Do I just cut off the the visible remainder of the membrane after floor laying or leave a bit spare and put it behind skirting board.
Do you think I could do this myself if I ordered a batch of screed in a few tubs or would I be best off getting someone else to do it. If so, what's a decent price? (the floor area is the back room of a standard two-up, two-down terraced house).
Many, many thanks in advance to replies. I know this is a bit of a long one.
