I'm looking to get an Internet connected alarm (i.e. it can be controlled and monitored from outside the property), ideally with video verification and the ability to monitor the video from time to time.

What systems are available that do this?

That is available for an end user to buy not sure.

Agility 3 / Light Sys has pir cameras and you can integrate there ip cameras to trigger of alarm events etc and login in and view, the internal ones even have audio. This does send images to your phone when the alarm is raised. (Installers only equipment)

Texecom have launched a new app, you can add ip cameras to that and manually check although it doesn't really appear fully functional it that respect yet. (can get this kit most places).

To be fair if you do have an alarm activation and you get notified from the alarm then you could just login to your ip cameras or dvr via a mobile app and look. (don't think you will get this off the shelf anywhere)

Pyronix are working on something for the enforcer but its early days yet and not video capable yet, but the app has been launched for export markets. When its launched probably a specific build so you couldn't buy now and upgrade later, without upgrading the panel.

Visonic can have cameras, but not sure how they work as I am sure they said the image went to an arc equipped to handle them but can't be certain as don't really do visonic other maintenance.

There are other solutions that you can get off ebay but not something I would recommend.

Anyone else think of possible systems for this that an end user can actually get hold of. that's a few off the top of my head.

Thanks. I made a list:
Honeywell Le Sucre ?
Friendland Globalguard Crap
Canary Single unit cam/PIR
Piper Single unit cam/PIR
Videofied
Visonic Real Alarm Hard to get
Risco Agility 3

Le Sucre at one time I thought these were ADT only panels, but seen them on alert electrical after having a look no idea how good or bas they are. Not found them any where else though so that may become an issue in a few years?

Canary don't see any uk sellers so wouldn't touch it, only online place is showing price in dollars. That site is saying only available in US.

Piper don't see any uk sellers so wouldn't touch it, only online place is showing price in dollars. That site is saying only available in US.

Not sure youll get what you want in the UK unless you get an installer to do it for you.

Yeah, I only know about Le Sucre because someone was ripping them out.

Piper and Canary were just added for comparison - I don't think they are viable solutions for an alarm system.

If I go professional, are there that many more options?

There is a Siemens unit cant remember what is called don't install it that may be suitable think security warehouse sell it and you can integrate cameras into that. Not sure how good or bad it is but it is a possibility I guess.
