Iron edge tape - what is this for?

I am fitting the FF housing. A roll of iron on edge tape came along with other panels. Any idea where to use this tape? I could not find anywhere? Thanks

The tape is for covering any exposed raw edges if you need to cut any panels to get your chosen F/F to fit nicely.

Also comes in handy if (when) the factory fitted trim strips start falling off.

I did not cut any panel. Well, there are only 2 long side panels plus top panel and bottom panel. I could not see where I have to cut to fit the FF housing. Since B and Q provided this tape and I did not cut any panel, does this mean I did not fit the housing correctly? Very confused......

P.S. I have to put an extra panel to fill the gap between the housing and the wall.

Please please throw your suggestions.
