Is earthing sockets to their casing dodgy?

Was Pyro not just a shortened version of Pyrotenax - the company that manufactured it?

We only use it to wire fire alarm and emergency lighting systems which need to have some level of fire resistance, so the nickname 'pyro' is quite fitting.

Just out of interest, why don't you use fire tuff or FP200?

I've used a fair amount of FP and it's definetaly 100x easier and quicker to work with than MI cables - I thought most would use these for fire alarm systems these days except perhaps where Pyro or the likes would offer better protection or for neater surface work(?)

Pyro is more durable. For surface work, use pyro. For flushed work, use FP.

You use SWA in workshops etc......
Pyro would be better suited here to FP.......

AFAIK FP200 and fire tuff etc is only rated as fire proof for 30 minutes, where as pyro is fire proof for as long as the building remains standing..

Try put a blow torch on a piece of FP200 and a piece of pyro, then compare the results (try meggering it too). we were shown this at college to porve that pyro is far superior to the likes of FP200
