Hi,

Whilst decorating the front room in my 1890's terrace I had the floor boards up to move some heating pipes. I noticed the end of some of the joists appeared a little damp.

Now I think this was due to the debris inder the house contacting the bottom of the joists. I have dug out this debris now leaving a gap. I'm just a bit worried after noticing something on the outside wall of the house.

I have attached some pictures for your opinons please.

Thanks,

Ian

Thanks for the reassurance!

So the crumbly timbers are just because it was damp I'm hoping.

I have already re-inforced the ends and added some more brick pillars to support right near the end of them.

Thanks,

Ian

Just a thought, but don!t you think it would be a good idea to show us some pics of the "crumbly timbers".
Probably only wet rot, but you never know!
