I've been given a job of finding out what is wrong with 2 storage heaters. It's probably the same old where the tenants don't realise they come on at night!
If it's not that, can you replace just the elements inside, and where do you get these from?
Usually when they go wrong I just install a new one, however I've been given a spend limit of 150 quid and there's no way you can get even one for that!
Any help appreciated!

There is really very litle to go wrong in a storage heater..

It could be the supply, the input stat, the overheat stat/ link or the elements.

You might also find when you are in the heater that the output damper isn't working correctly. I tend to give them a vac and also reverse my vac to blow any dust bunnies out; I also sometimes have to "pursuade" the dampers to behave!!

Don't assume its the element.

Most heaters have more than one so its unlikely they've all gone pop at the same time.

Use a multimeter set to continuity and follow the wiring round the heater.
There's a number of things that go wrong. Most usual are the thermostat and the overheat link.

If the link is gone you can get replacements. In some cases you can just press a button to reset it.

You'll find it easy with a multimeter and some patience....

Also be aware some have internal fuses. So it could be as simple as replacing one of those.

If the fault is common to all heaters in the property, check that the off peak board is switched on, and that it is getting a supply at the correct times.
