i got a peice of wood from a friend he had it because the guy who lived in the house before he bought it left it under the shed.
the peice of wood has teak with the length written on the end of it but i have my doubts.
it was very easy to cut and sand and work with in general it didnt seem hard at all the short teeth saw went straight through it and so did the jigsaw and it sanded really easy too.
the sawdust was like light brown muscovado sugar it was fine and held together so i am assuming it had resin in it.
i will upload some pics with links of after sanding but before oiling(i used teak oil) and after oiling.
before sanding:

what do you think is it teak? if so why is it so soft?
if its not teak what is it?
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance steven
