Hi all. Not sure if this is the right place for this but I was clearing out the fireplace in our new house (it is disconnected). Below the coals or imitation coals was this little white pad. I tore it out and took it outside without gloves or a mask then it occurred to me it could be asbestos. A few people have told me it’s probably just ceramic fibre; what do you guys think?

thank you do you know what these are made of?

These are usually made out of ceramic fibre strands or vermiculite. That looks like ceramic to me based on the colour, but can't be 100% sure.
