That will mess up the insulation in the lamp holders and lead to [premature failure of the fitting.
One drop of water hitting the glass of a hot lamp creates a very high risk of the lamp exploding. Whenthe lamp bursts the filament vaporises and there is then a high risk of an uncontrolled plasma discharge in the metal vapour. It wont last long if the fuse / MCD operates to turn off the lights and plunge the house into darkness. But it may last long enough that it melts the glass and sends drops of molten glass around the room. These can cause small but deep burns inflesh before the glass solidifies in the flesh.
That is the worse case scenario but it can happen.
They are most definately NOT suitable for bathroom.
