I posted a problem that i was having regarding a fused spur that i was going to put in the loft (running from a hallway socket up the inside of the plasterboard wall into the loft to plug in a lcd tv that will be mounted from a ceiling bracket in the bedroom). Well do you think i can this cable down the wall no way. So now i was thinking about running a extension cable instead i.e running it down the inside of the wall drilling a hole below the socket re-wiring the cable and plugging it in there, & then plugging the T.V. on in the loft.
HOW SAFE IS THIS.................................

I wouldnt do as you described. very sloppy and poor.

besides which id imagine the extension cable might have 1.5mm cores, have you checked this?

how hard have you tryed to get the twin and earth down the wall? tryed using something as a draw wire to pull it through?

another option might be some surface trunking. ive seen the looks on peoples faces when you suggest this but done correctly it looks very neat and tidy.

recently put a couple of sockets in myself with pvc mini trunking and it looks very nice.

I'm probably missing something here, but if you can't get a twin and earth down the wall, why do you think an extension lead will be any easier?
