Isolator or switched-fuse?
Should there be an isolator of a switched fuse between the REC incomer and a cu? I have heard conflicting advice on this. In fact, it was suggested that nothing is needed in between. The run is approx 16 metres.

thanks

for short distances there is sometimes an iolator. for longer distances where should be a switch fuse.

WPD dont give a monkeys. They will connect any (reasonable) length of tails.

I came across this one many years ago. If the CU was more than a certain distance from the meter you had to put an isolator by the meter. Trouble is, I can't remember what that distance was! Common sense dictates that if you can't see both from the same vantage point then you should have an isolator - but don't quote me on that.

a lot of the terraced houses here have the meter in the front passage and the cu at the other side of the building 8m

they all have a switch fuse near the meter
