It must be pure hell for them….

Reform, yes.
Slim down, yes.
But, elected?

As a country (system?), why would we want another tier of clowns?

To rubber-stamp the trough-snuffling / cronyism / fudgetardery?

Jeez us wept.....
The system is OK. Except that it is skewed by governments appointing Lords of their own ideology.
Each government appoints more and more of their chosen peers which means the size of the Lords grows each time.

A cap on the number of new peers created would lead to a gradual reduction over time, and prevent any government from populating it with their own supporters.

If this report is accurate, I feel sorry for the students affected. Hopefully the migrants housed here won't complain about the accommodation. Honestly, this government couldn't organise the proverbial p1ss up in a brewery.

And shocking news on Bibby Stockholm!

The maximum occupancy has been reduced to around 400 because of fire evacuation limits. By some estimates it is now more expensive than the average hotel.

Good news! Tents are to be banned for homeless people!

I wonder how they define "tent".

A guy on Haven Green in Ealing Broadway had a tarp tied to the trees and shopping trolley. I suspect that the trolley was both storage and a means of preventing the tarp slumping in the middle.

German politician on the radio this morning head of some dept in Germany

The German government are now looking at the
Feasibility of off shoreing migrants seeking asylum

There are some parallels. The key difference is that when we ship someone to Rwanda then they cannot get Asylum in the UK, but might in Rwanda.

What Germany has planned is to bring them to Germany if their asylum claim is approved.

Be that as it may ?

Other EU countries are also looking at a similar caper

Off shoring asylum claims in other countries

In order to stop the influx of thousands of migrants

This could be why they're possibly trying to head off right wing governments across europe.
If this plan of dealing with asylum seekers isn't enough to placate those moving to the right then a 'rwanda' might be next in line.
