The wall in my house are very uneven and I am thinking of overboarding them. Is this a good idea and if I used ivory backed plasterboard, would aviod the need to employ a plaster? On a really tight budget but don't want it to look rubbish either.

Thanks for any opinions or ideas on this?

You can use the boards....but fix them to a frame work.......not directly to the wall.....(i wouldnt recommend 'dot and dab' is this takes quite a lot of practice to perfect) have the light side facing outwards....then tape and fill the joints with the appropriate filler....
