Hi everyone,

Just wanted to seek a little advice. I'm replacing a cast iron stack with PVC.
I've dug down to expose the clay pipe underground, the cast iron is inserted into a clay tile which is around 120mm diameter and the top joint is mortared in place.

I figured my options are:

1) Cut of the flange of the clay pipe and use a rubber coupling (rather not as it means spending more time digging a much bigger hole to get an angle grinder in)
2) Leave the bottom section of cast iron in, use a rubber coupling just above ground level (maybe use the coupling directly on a soil access fitting)
3) Use a rubber doughnut arrangement directly between the PVC pipe and clay flange (I haven't been able to source one of these anywhere and I'm doubtful it would meet building regs anyway.)

Can anyone advise which would be the best option? I was originally hoping to leave the clay flange in place (if it survives the removal of the cast iron).

Many thanks
Rob
