Found this little gadget on a shopping channel and what a little gem it is. Perfect for any job that needs a neat bead of silicone etc. No more of the wetting the finger and hoping for the best. All you do is scrape of the excess amount and the jobs done. Only downside is you`ve more waste but what looks better a nice neat job or blobby that looks like the chuckle brothers have had a go.

try masking tape on both sides. Lay moderate bead in the gap. Wipe once with wet finger while tape is still on. Then take tape off and wipe once more really lightly, to push down the raised edge of the silicone due to the masking tape.

I always get a really good finnish this way.
