Phone them up and say you've got a record, then you won't have to do it. That's what I did, no questions were asked.

Hi Stivino. I have got a record that's why I was surprised to get the call. Although it's twenty years since my last offence I didn't think the rehabilitation act covered jury service. Mind you the last time I was roped in by the rozzers about three years ago they had no records either. maybe someone has cocked up on the paper work. Might give them a ring.

I thought Coppers were exempt because they have knowledge of the law?

A sure fire way to get off it is when you get into court look over at the dock and say one of two things:

1) Looks bloomin' guilty to me.

or

2) Alright Kev! Didn't know you were here today. How's Sharon and the kids?

Guarantee you'll be excused.
