Kenmore Elite does nothing but hum

The hum you may be hearing could be from a bad or clogged fill valve. I would check the valve for voltage when it's supposed to be filling and if you have voltage at the valve, the only other thing you can check is the filter screen inside the valve. These get crudded up sometimes and the water doesn't flow like it should. If those things check out, probably a bad water valve.
