kick in the teeth for

silly judy pretends he didn't read the first post.
Ahh, you seem to be under the mistaken assumption that all working class claim "universal credit" ? I consider myself working class (even earning in excess of £30,000 per year) I couldn't claim this "universal credit" if I tried. Perhaps you ought to define what you call "working class" Johnnyboy? Go on ,, amuse us.

Ahh, you do think the "working class" are all on the minimum wage then (as does transam apparently) What's it like in your "middle/ upper class" world there Johnnyboy? All sunshine and roses ehh . (you sad , sad person)

the argument that there aren’t poorer people driving old bangers in london to get about is wrong.

I’d like to understand the likelihood of less pollution taking out these 30,000 vehicles and replacing them with slightly less polluting vehicles.

i’ll listen to people whose politics i don’t agree with so long as they aren’t fake and annoying. Jeremy corbyn is ok to listen to for example he’s genuine in his belief

I think the 'argument' is about the 'hard working-class', those 'struggling to make ends meet', 'having to run a second-hand car' paying this additional charge to drive into London.
It is hardly likely that the 'argument' put forward in the OP meets the simplest of tests for those that will have to pay the additional charge.
Lets face it, it was **** end that presented that argument.

Why don't the traffic cops pull over vehicles that are spewing out **** from their exhausts?

I got a £30 bus lane fine because my tyres rolled over the wrong bit of tarmac while the guy 2mtrs away that's burning a hole in the ozone layer is free to crack on.

you mean in the same way Socialist Sweden is poverty-stricken and business has fled?

errrrr... maybe not.

In 1948, a crushed Britain built more homes than it does today. Have we got poorer?

You started by pretending sympathy with the working man or woman who drives into the City or West End every day for low paid work. I wonder if you were sincere.

wonder what u like :) plenty of people drive into london to work, and this 10 pound caper is just the start of what is to come & it will be rolled out to other areas not just the west end.

Of course u are the champion of the poor & low paid , or so u would have every one believe  u talk the talk but what do u actually do ?? hmmm

apart from vote labour ounce every 5 years

What about your life style ?? bought any clothes made by child labour ?? in some 3rd world country , what about the raw materials that sustain your life style , the minerals & raw materials dug out the ground by people on less then a dollar a day ? with a life expectancy that we had 200 years ago ? no rights , no legal protection , no health care. Do u care when u buy the goods ??

Do u buy Tuna ?? Have u seen the conditions in some of the canning factories ? Slave & bonded labour exists all over the world & you buy the goods they make ;)

So does Corbyn

We're not talking about London. We're talking about the small central area covered by the congestion charge. Very few of the people who work in London drive into the congestion zone every day for work. It would be hell unless your chauffeur takes the strain while you sit behind your glass partition reading your briefings.

How many people do you know that drive every day from Leafy Surrey to the West End or the City? How many of them are low-paid? What is their daily cost for parking?

It will affect 34,000 people said so on the radio , they figure was quoted by Khan, I have worked in that area years ago when I could not afford to buy a new car at that time

what about all the repair and maintenace people that have to go into that area & as said the area will be extended .

the working class in london , those struggling to make ends meet & run a 2nd hand car

And you think that describes the 34,000 people who use a car to work daily in the City and West End? Where did you (invent) that idea?

O.K it's a tax on the rich , who cares tbh  good policy

Why don't they just ban the cars if pollution is their real concern?

Although, as linked in my thread on car pollution, they might not be the real culprits and when eventually no difference is noticed they may have some cash.
