All,

I have been given a quote for 60mm Internal Wall insulation boards. The suppliers says the following.

hi the insulation board will be either ecotherm or recticel, the board does not carry a 'u' value as that is something that is calculated over the entire construction , it would have an r value of 2.73m2k/w comparative to say that of celotex or kingspan.

Is this true? As looking at Kingspan website 60mm is 0.020 W/m.K (= 45 mm)

HELP :)

Cheers

The 'R-value' is equal to the thickness of the product (in m.) divided by the thermal conductivity of the product.

An R-value of 2.73 for a 0.06m thick product would therefore give a thermal conductivity of;

0.06/2.73 = 0.022, which is about right for kingspan.
