OK now im really confused, does my kitchen sink need earthing or not, it seems that different versions of the regs say different things, the sink fitting instructions came with lots of writing in bold about how the sink must be bonded, but I've seen people on here who seem to know what they are talking about say otherwise.

If it does need bonding what size should the wire be and is it correct to run it in to one of the earth terminals of an under counter socket running off an FCU?

What do the current regs say? Never mind the old ones, or are we working to the 1966 14th Edition????

According to the CURRENT 7671, kitchen bonding is a no-no, but many still do it.

I do not.

The conclusion i had come to was to not bond it, I'm glad that someone was able to confirm that i hadn't got completely the wrong end of the stick.

Cheers :)

NICEIC snags and solutions states quite clearly that Bonding to kitchen sinks, althought a requiremrnt of 15th edition regs is now not considered necessary or desirable.
