I have ordered a new kitchen and as we have an small kitchen the only place we can have the kitchen sink is on it's own where it previously was, the new kitchen has arrived (we have to put the kitchen in ourselves!!) I was wondering we have got a unit to go under the sink but as it's on it's own do I need a worktop on top of it or is it ok without the worktop as the sink is covering the unit?

Thanks for your help in advance

Depends on the type of sink but if it is a normal inset one you will need a worktop as well.

Inset sink, yes, sit-on sink, no.
A sit-on sink will have a 2"-ish high upstand at the back.

Is the normal stainless sink a inset one or a sit on?
