Could anybody tell me if when fitting a new kitchen and all socket / Light plates need to be changed without any extra wiring been done - just change from white to chrome ensuring all are earthed,
is this classed as minor work and or needs notifing or nothing.
I will also be wanting to replace the pelmit lights
Thanks

It is minor work, so if you get a sparks to do it he will issue you with a minor works cert. If you do it yourself it is not notifiable as you are not installing new fixed wiring.

How old is the installation as you may not have a CPC in the lighting circuit which will require a rewire or ditching the idea of metal fittings.
