Kitchen worktop sockets tower.

Never seen one of those before - it does look like a very novel and neat idea!

However, in a kitchen worktop situation I'd be somewhat concerned about spillages running into it.......

I'd also be concerned about pushing it back down once something was plugged in, as shown in the photos - what if you needed to pull out a plug in an emergency?

Also - there are better photos here:

You can see that there is no fuse, and nowhere does any blurb mention a fuse, so it's going to need a socket somewhere else, or FCU, to power it, and that should also be accessible.

And with only 13A available, good luck running a kettle and a toaster at the same time....

Surely we already established the ideal way of providing sockets in a kitchen?

They have been used in offices for quite some time and they do come with a 13amp plug. They normally plug into the desk power distribution but like you all, I'm not sure how suitable they are for a Kitchen?

Without disturbing wall tiles, or using conduit :?:

no need for either in the prototype kitchen (might not suit everyone) can we see your latest pic of progress, Ban?

I do like the way that one 'periscopes down' & takes the plugs with it:cool:
