I have seen many comments about 3 degrees and rising but HOW LONG AFTER LAYING THE BLOCKS is this temperature critical. I have a gable end that needs completing but I don't know that, if I do start work on it, that 36 hours later the temperature will drop below zero or not. According to the Met office it will be sub-zero one night this week. Is the job best shelved?

Try and lay as the temp's are getting to their highest then wrap the masonry in hessian - double or even treble and leave alone for a couple of days.
