hi there,
I am just about to lay some self adhesive floor tiles in my bathroom,i have just pulled up the old lino which has left the old adhesive behind would it be alright to lay straight on to this or should i put some 1 ply down.
The floor boards are chipboard
Also when trying to find the centre spot of the room do i find that by measuring the room or just the floor space.
Thanks for your help Dazz

4 or 6 mm plywood. and center from the floor space not room. Dry lay tiles to make sure your happy with how they finish for cuts. Big cuts better than small ones.

work from the door.. it 's the first tiles you'll see when entering and there's nothing worse that having a line or row off center.. it'll grate on your nerves until you finally snap and rip the whole lot up again..

I'm planning to use vinyl tiles in my kitchen on a concrete floor but still have the old black adhesive from the old hard vinyl tiles that were put in by the council..
what's best to remove this as it will make the floor uneven.

I also wonder what to use to "seal" the gaps between tiles as it's a kitchen ( and applies to the OP's bathroom as well ) and will get wet occasionally ( when I mop or spill, or when the OP showers... )
