hi everyone, just another question on lead flashing.

i will eventually be doing a straight line lead flash seal over a pitch roof joining a veritcal wall.

i have seen in a lot of d.i.y shops a sort of flash tape,it comes on a roll, and i think it has a sort of primer with it.

does any one know if it has to be inserted into brick joints as you would normal lead flashing.

has any one used it and is it a good bit of kit,,,

thanks col

Hiya

The flashing tape you mean is called Flashband, Its not recommended for a long term solution and is nothing compared to lead. The flashband is great for a quick repair over a crack in lead, flat roof and valley etc. I personally wouldn't recommend it for a flashing instead of lead.

Lead would be your best bet. The extra you spend of a roll of lead will save you over the years
