I have an airlock which is causing my boiler to overheat and cut out. when i try to top up though, water pours from just below the pump. Is this a straight forward leak? If so, why has it just presented itself?

Your leak could be anything, if you don't feel confident I'd get a Heating engineer in ;)

What kind of system is it and if combi what boiler????

If leak is at the actual pump then you might be lucky and only need to replace the washer but if leaking from the pump body then whole lot and housing will best to be replaced!

Do this first before even thinking about if an airlock is in system!
