Hi there, I'm in the process of installing a toilet. All was going well until I noticed a small leak from the rubber bung where the pipe goes into the pan. Searching the problem on Youtube one guy reckons that in general it is often due to the pipe being to small so I disassembled to see if that was the problem. Well the flush pipe provided with my cistern is 50mm going down to 40mm and this means I can't push it any any further than the first shoulder in the pan and so the rubber seal has to be right at the end of the pipe. No way will it go into the smaller orifice and beyond.

Is this in any way normal or must I buy an appropriate pipe or will a good dose of Plumber's mate permanently solve the problem.

Many thanks in advance...............................Kev
