Hi -

One of my radiators is leaking when turned on. The water appears to be coming from the underside of the knob on the side (the one that adjusts the temperature (i.e. it has numbers ranging from 1 - 5). Baring in mind that I am such a girl that I don't even know what this is called is it worth me getting a plumber out to sort it?

Bough the house about 2 months ago so I don;t know if this is a new problem or an old one. The radiators and central heating are about 2 years old.

It might also be worth noting that the numbers are upside down - does this mean it's been installed wrong. Baring in mind that whoever did the new central heating managed to bodge quite a few other things in the system it wouldn't surpirse me if this was a bit of a botch job.

It's Thermostatic Radiator Valve, and it's had it. Easy to change if you know how, but defnitely blokey. :(

Well thanks for letting me know.

I'm going to get the plumber out to insulate some exterior pipes for me so I'll ask him to sort it at the same time - how much, roughly, should I be paying him?
