Fitted a new bath and the trap I bought looked the same size as the one I cut out. From plumbase I got an SC10 - for some reason I had it in my head to ask for a 60mm depth one - on reading my DIY book again the bath trap should be 75mm for legal reasons.

Is what I bought ok?

SC10 is the inch an arf P trap.

Should of got the L10 (plumbase code P009156) or,
Q10 shallow trap (plumbase code P009189) ;)

I looked on PLumbase and SC10 is 75mm - is that not ok? What is a P trap for then?

Cheers

Rich

If the bath waste discharges directly into a soil stack the trap must have a seal of at least 50mm depth (not 75mm). However if it discharges into an open gulley or hopper head then a shallow seal (e.g. 19mm) is acceptable.

Do I need to change it to an LC10 or Q10 then for legal reasons?
