As i face the stud wall i am tiling, the easiest way of explaining is that the wall is falling towards me from the top - ie. the to make the wall level with the spirit i need to lift the bottom part of spirit approx 5mm off the wall.

to pack it out for levelling would you just use more adhesive?

My concern is that because i am installing a shower tray / shower glass surround, if the wall isnt vertically level then there will be a bigger gap at the bottom half of the shower surround/wall join

cheers

I "skimmed" mine with cement based tile adhesive to get it level. Might not be the right answer but it's been OK for the last few years!

i suppose i could use multifinish thinking about it, as i am skimming the rest of the bathroom.. if i can get hold of any that is!

It's Good that you've noticed the out of plumb wall at this stage but I shouldn't worry about 5mm, that's easily made up with adhesive by using either a bigger notch trowel on your lower courses or by back buttering these tiles as you lay them. Shower enclosures or wet room screens nearly always have tolerances built into them to cope with out of plumb walls, usually up to about 20mm.
