Liff 2000 Water Softener

Can anyyone help please?

I have the said water softener in the house that i moved into but there are no instructions for it and i was looking to find out how to set it up as the water still seems very hard.

i have purchased a hardness kit and my water is reading 300 PPM however when i go to set up the unit i can only set the unit up between 14 - 35 but i have not idea what this relates to.

can anyone help?
