I need to lay a bunch of 600x900 porcelain slabs. They're 20mm thick so not particularly heavy but due to the 5mm grout gap I'm not sure how to drop them in to place.

I don't want to pay 300 pounds for a suction handle if I can avoid it. Do the 30 quid lifting tongs tend to work okay with this kind of tile?

Thanks!

What kind of weight do you consider as 'not particularly heavy'?

Looking on Google the average weight of a 600 x 900 x 20mm slab is around 23-24kg each.
Might be ok laying a couple but them the weight will start taking it's toll.
Think of your back.

Yes, about 20kg sounds about right. Even with a powered suction handle I'll still be taking the full weight though. What's the alternative?

Ps the ones I'm taking up are 40mm thick and concrete. Now that's heavy, and yes my back can feel it!
