Light stays on

Hi, I have just installed varilight dimmers, but I’m left with a small problem. My ceiling light now has a mind of its own. It will keep getting brighter and dimmer when I screw the switch on. Any ideas why and how I can solve it? Thanks.

don't screw the switch on.

you have caught the insulation of one of the wires with the screw, or the switch itself
